All of the music recordings on this site are recordings of independent origin (ROIOs) Music that has not been officially released. If you are an artist or a legal representative of an artist and you do not want your ROIO shared on my site for free among your fans (and creating new fans), just tell me in the comment area and I will remove them. By the way these recordings exist. They won't go away. All of them can be found at various places on line. Sharing just keeps the fans that support the artists from having to get ripped off by purchasing them on auction sites, and it also introduces music to people who would never have known the artist, creating a stronger fan base.

Bob Dylan, Town Hall, New York, NY 4-12-1963 (SBD)

There are a lot of Bob Dylan recordings in circulation and this is one that sure sounds good.  An early historic show.  Might be one of his first major concerts of note.  The story is that there were about 600 people in the audience and that was his biggest audience up to that time.  Anyway an amazing recording.

Cannonball Adderley Quintet, Two Shows From 1969 (FM) Re-Post

This is a great moment in time if you ask me. Music was changing and here is Zawinul with Adderly playing some Jazz while Miles and his bunch were turning the thing on it's head. Zawinul was in the middle of it and was able to keep it real and relevant on both fronts. The sound of this is just perfect. I have seen on the Adderley site that there is much more from this session but this is all I have found.

This second one is from four days earlier and again is a radio broadcast. This is longer and more complete but has a lot of talking between tracks. I personally put this on CD without the talking, but thats just me. This stuff just has a great feel. I really love the blues tune called Oh Babe.

Pat Metheny Group, Hempstead, NY, 11-17-1979 (Pre-FM)

This is a really great recording of the original Pat Metheny Group.  This was recorded just after the bands second album American Garage was released.  American Garage reached number one on the jazz album charts.  While the American Garage album itself was not technically recorded very well the compositions were good and the album was for many a great introduction to the transcendent sound of this band.

Jimmy Herring and Justice League Of America, 1-22-2000 (SBD)

This is a show from a short lived band that had Jimmy Herring, T. Lavitz, and Richie Hayward. There are some great jams on this to be sure with musicians like that. After all it's half of the Jazz Is Dead band and a member of Little Feat. It is sad that both T. Lavitz and Richie Hayward passed away last year. The sound quality is outstanding and it comes with some cool and creative covers made by Boogie Woody that just adds to the package. Jimmy Herring as Batman cracks me up. If you like Jimmy Herring or T. Lavits this is a must.

By now if you have been following my blog you know that the Seldom Scene is a quality Bluegrass act. This one goes way back to 1974 and is real fine, like aged wine. And it has a guest appearance of Sam Bush playing guitar.
