.......... .. .. ........... "Once In A While You Get Shown The Light In The Strangest Of Places If You Look At It Right" :Robert Hunter

All of the music recordings on this site are recordings of independent origin (ROIOs) Music that has not been officially released. If you are an artist or a legal representative of an artist and you do not want your ROIO shared on my site for free among your fans (and creating new fans), just tell me in the comment area and I will remove them. By the way these recordings exist. They won't go away. All of them can be found at various places on line. Sharing just keeps the fans that support the artists from having to get ripped off by purchasing them on auction sites, and it also introduces music to people who would never have known the artist, creating a stronger fan base.

Tony Rice Unit, Santa Monica, CA, 7-17-1982 (SBD)

This is a real great recording of the Tony Rice Unit going way back to 1982.  Tony Rice is one of the all time great bluegrass guitar players.  Several years ago Tony had an ailment that made him unable to sing but he continued playing the guitar, but now arthritis is robbing him of his ability to play, leaving this legendary guitarist unable to ply his trade. Not
only is that a painful loss to music lovers world wide, it has stolen
from Tony his means to earn a living. At first he attempted to soldier
on, playing through pain, but as even that became difficult, he has had
to cancel the shows that were booked.
As he told a close friend recently, “I never thought my guitar would ever let me down.”
Arthritis is a cruel illness for musicians and artists of any kind,
especially as it can offer good days and bad days, seeing hope
continuously unrequited. When you earn your keep with your hands,
it can seem like a brutal injustice. For Tony, it has also involved
tremendous emotional stress, recognizing the vulnerability in his
financial position.  If you are interested in helping contact the Tony Rice Foundation.
