.......... .. .. ........... "Once In A While You Get Shown The Light In The Strangest Of Places If You Look At It Right" :Robert Hunter

All of the music recordings on this site are recordings of independent origin (ROIOs) Music that has not been officially released. If you are an artist or a legal representative of an artist and you do not want your ROIO shared on my site for free among your fans (and creating new fans), just tell me in the comment area and I will remove them. By the way these recordings exist. They won't go away. All of them can be found at various places on line. Sharing just keeps the fans that support the artists from having to get ripped off by purchasing them on auction sites, and it also introduces music to people who would never have known the artist, creating a stronger fan base.

Great American String Band, 1974

This post is two shows from The Great American String Band. Another Jerry Garcia side project. It only lasted a short time in this configuration. I can only find seven documented shows that they played. This appears to be a continuation of the Old And In The Way idea with Garcia on banjo and Grisman on mandolin. This band then eventually morphed into the first configuration of the David Grisman Quintet. Already at this point they are doing several songs that would be some of the David Grisman Quintet's standards.

  1. I guess I was # 99901. I found you last week and I must say you put on quite a show. These GASB are something I never knew about. I've got a some of the older "Old & In The Way", but this is really nice to hear something new. Also wanted to say congrats on the 100,000 mark and keep up the search.

  2. I'd like to echo matches comment. These are new to me too. Very many thanks. Len
