.......... .. .. ........... "Once In A While You Get Shown The Light In The Strangest Of Places If You Look At It Right" :Robert Hunter

All of the music recordings on this site are recordings of independent origin (ROIOs) Music that has not been officially released. If you are an artist or a legal representative of an artist and you do not want your ROIO shared on my site for free among your fans (and creating new fans), just tell me in the comment area and I will remove them. By the way these recordings exist. They won't go away. All of them can be found at various places on line. Sharing just keeps the fans that support the artists from having to get ripped off by purchasing them on auction sites, and it also introduces music to people who would never have known the artist, creating a stronger fan base.

Hot Tuna And Friends, 3-04-88

This is a pretty nice Hot Tuna performance at the Fillmore Auditorium. From what I have found, Kaukonen surprised fellow Airplane alumnus Paul Kantner, who was sitting in, with a surprise appearance by his estranged lover Grace Slick; the success of this performance helped to pave the way for a Jefferson Airplane reunion tour and record in 1989. This came from a cassette tape that I have had since the early 90s.

  1. Hooray for some Hot Tuna--I haven't seen any live Tuna recordings from the late-1980s. This is the year when I first saw them, in a theater on a triple bill with Taj Mahal and the Band--yeah, that was a night!

Thanks a lot and many blessings to you for an awesome blog that always has something new and special to offer. Have a very Merry Christmas.

  2. Thank you. And merry Christmas.

  3. Just to say thanks for this. I'm amazed how good the sound quality is. As to the performance, Jorma and Jack exell at times, although I'm not too impressed by Kantner. Great concert.Have a good Christmas, whatever form it may take. Bob

  4. Thanks for this!! I saw Jorma and Jack at the Beacon, NYC on Dec4th.....great as always!!

  5. Merci pour ce beau cadeau de Noël !!
