Los Lobos, Hog Farm Pignic, 8-31-1997 (SBD)

The Hog Farm is an organization considered to be America's longest running hippie commune. With beginnings as an actual collective hog farm in Tujunga, California, the group, founded in the 1960s by peace activist and clown Hugh Romney.  Huge latter became known as Wavy Gravy a name he was given by B.B King at the Texas Internatonal Pop Festival, where the Hog Farm was responsible for security.  The Hog Farm is perhaps best known for their involvement with the Woodstock Music Festival. While lodging on Manhattan's East Side from 1968–69, the Farm was approached by Woodstock Ventures with a proposal to participate in a planned music festival in upstate New York. Today, the Hog Farm is still in existence, with various locations including a headquarters in Berkeley, California, and a 200+ acre farm in Laytonville, California, known as Black Oak Ranch.  The Anual Hog Farm Pignic is a annual music event held traditionaly on Labor Day weekend.

Los Lobos, Austin TX, November 1988 Acoustic Show (SBD)

This one is Los Lobos doing an acoustic show to promote the album La Pistola y El Corazon.  This album was dedicated to their Mexican musical heritage of Tejeno and Mariachi type folk music.  It is short  but sweet, and sounds great.  Another Arizona Jones exclusive.

Here are two very hot Los Lobos shows from the Fillmore in San Francisco in 1998. They are both soundboards with a great assortment of Los Lobos songs and some fantastic covers. We are going back 30 years.  And a band from East LA started making a splash.  Los Lobos had just recorded its first major label album, Will The Wolf Survive, and was getting some radio air play.  This is a great recording of them from that time.  And I must say it just plain rocks!

  So here it is, just a little band from East LA, that found themselves playing in Chicago back 30 years ago.  The sign says fireworks are prohibited in East LA, but Los Lobos shows from this time had plenty of fireworks to be sure.

I used to live on the central coast of California near Morro Bay.  And was lucky enough to go to shows in the little town of Avila Beach at the resort looking over the bay.  Great times and memories.  I could not believe this show surfaced.

Los Lobos, 5-19-1998

This one is a pretty nice sounding recording. The show has some great moments in my opinion. I like the Papa Was A Roling Stone into to I Can't Understand and the Dear Mr. Fantasy. As per usual you get that great mix of Mexican folk music and rock and roll that is the Los Lobos trade mark.
