All of the music recordings on this site are recordings of independent origin (ROIOs) Music that has not been officially released. If you are an artist or a legal representative of an artist and you do not want your ROIO shared on my site for free among your fans (and creating new fans), just tell me in the comment area and I will remove them. By the way these recordings exist. They won't go away. All of them can be found at various places on line. Sharing just keeps the fans that support the artists from having to get ripped off by purchasing them on auction sites, and it also introduces music to people who would never have known the artist, creating a stronger fan base.

Golden State Country Bluegrass Festival, San Rafel, CA. April 27th and 28th, 1974 (SBD)

Here is a cool bit of history. This is four CDs of a bluegrass festival from Marin County that has Jerry Garcia, Vassar Clements, David Grisman, Doc Watson, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Emmylou Harris, Taj Mahal, John Hartford and a bunch more. Garcia plays in the five Old And In The Way songs but is also in a buch of others. He is in close to thirty songs of this festival.

Old And In The Way, 7-23-73

Here is yet another show featuring Jerry Garcia from the time period between 1973 and 1975. It's another fine soundboard recording of Old And In The Way. In 1973 Jerry played 26 Old And In The Way shows, along with 74 Grateful Dead shows, and 49 Garcia and Saunders shows. Around 150 shows in one year along with whatever time was spent in the studio producing the Wake Of The flood album. Jerry was also very productive during this time creating new songs. That alot of frequent flier miles. This is one of my favorite time periods of the Grateful Dead. I guess Jerry was trying to stay busy while dealing with the loss of his friend and band mate from the Grateful Dead, Pig Pen, who died at age 27 on 3-08-1973.
